Interactive Educational Programs
Long Island Chamber Music’s highly interactive educational programs reach learners of every age through a variety of creative lesson plans. We build personal connections and a love for classical music in students through the inclusion of socio-emotional learning in all of our programs encouraging self-reflection and critical thinking.
We are proud to share our programs year-round in schools, libraries, and community centers across Long Island. Our school programs are a part of the Nassau and Eastern Suffolk BOCES catalogs.

What Does Art Sound Like?
Have you ever wondered while looking at a painting what the soundtrack might be like if it was a movie? In this program, we pair music with well-known paintings, drawings, and other visual art to identify parallels between the two art forms. Volunteers from the audience will be able to compose short musical pieces for the musicians by using a technique called graphic notation which is based on colors and shapes. This program can be tailored for children grades 3 - 12. No prior musical experience is required!
